Description

This is an original ancient Roman bronze coin of Licinius I, minted in Rome between 318-319 AD. The coin denomination is AE follis, measuring 18-19.5mm (0.71-0.77 inch) in diameter and weighing 3.21gm (0.11 oz). The obverse of the coin features a helmeted and cuirassed bust of Licinius I facing right, with the inscription "IMP LICINIVS AVG." On the reverse, the coin depicts Roma seated to the right, holding a shield on her lap inscribed with X-V in two lines. The fields on either side are inscribed with P-R, and the mintmark is RT. The coin has a VF (Very Fine) condition and retains its original patina. This is a rare and valuable addition to any collection of ancient Roman coins.
